"All religion, all people should work together peacefully. Development can follow. But what he (Kalam) had envisioned was that all communities, religious people... All of them, irrespective of the walks of life they belong to, should live together with harmony as we work towards his dream of a developed nation," Sheikh Dawood said at an award function organised by NGO 'Utthan Samiti' honouring Kalam.
Noted personalities like Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan (who was absent), sculptor Ram Sutar, wrestler Sangram Singh and fashion designer Sunil Sethi were felicitated.
Union Minister of Steel and Mines Narendra Singh Tomar, who also attended the ceremony, said Kalam's name attached to the award will encourage achievers from different spheres of life to contribute more to the society.
