Two Kashmiri Pandit organisations today asked the Centre to allow the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate cases of terror funding against separatists without any political interference.
We urge the government at the Centre to allow the NIA to pursue already opened cases of funding of the subversive terrorist campaigns in the state with full vigour and without any political interference, Panun Kashmir convenor Agnishekhar and Kashmiri Samiti Delhi president Vijay Raina said in a joint statement here.
In an apparent reference to the withdrawal of cases against stone-pelters and the Centre's peace initiative during Ramzan, the groups said such steps were aimed to demean and ridicule the resistance against terrorism and militarisation of the society particularly in Kashmir province.
We have no hesitation in stating that the security policy of the Mehbooba led government to reduce the foot prints of the security forces in the state in an environment of growing local terrorism was a policy of subverting the state responses to the Jihadi scourge, the statement said.
It alleged that the Islamist control of the democratic system during the previous government had virtually transformed democracy into a sanctuary of Jihad which needed to be destroyed with a foremost urgency.
"We appeal to the Centre to involve the NIA to look into the critical issues of use of the state government and organs of administration by the Jihadi establishment, the statement said.
The group reiterated the demanded for creation of a Union Territory for Kashmiri Pandits on the northeastern side of river Jhelum in the Kashmir Valley for their permanent rehabilitation.
