LFW Winter/Festive 2016 to promote talent from Assam

With an idea to encourage talent from North East, Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2016 will focus on designers from Assam.
Three designers from the state will make their runway debut under the 'Sustainability and Indian Handlooms' section.
Well-known labels including Vrisa, Anavilla Mishra, Raw Mango, Pella and Padmaja will also present their range on the Indian Textile Day, dedicated to celebrating the textile industry in India.
Ace designer Tarun Tahiliani will open the fashion week on August 23, in association with LYF.
In its 17th year, LFW has put together a line-up of 92 participating designers including Rajesh Pratap Singh, Sanjay Garg, Ashish N Soni, Shantanu & Nikhil, Payal Khandwala, Kunal Rawal, among others.
A plus-size show, curated by designer Shilpa Chavan of Little Shilpa in association with the plus-size store, aLL, will also take place.
Celebrity designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee will bring the curtains down on August 28 as the Lakme Grand Finale designer. He will present a line inspired by Lakme's beauty statement for the season 'Illuminate'.
