The 20-year-old singer, who named his Instagram profile fakeliampayne, garnered over half a million followers in less than 24-hour since joining the social networking site.
"Right I'm gonna try figure this Instagram. I sound like a grandad (sic)," Payne tweeted after joining the site.
He then posted a series of funky photos on the site.
"Half a million followers on my Instagram in half a day. Crazy times hope that I can make my Instagram fun for you," he tweeted.
The fans were trying to guess his Instagram password.
