Suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh, who recently made an alleged suicide attempt, today claimed that he would not get justice and that it was a life and death fight for him in the Saradha scam case in which he is an accused.
"Does anyone have to accept whatever the state is doing? I will not get justice, this is a life and death fight for me," Ghosh said during the hearing of a case against him for non-payment of salary in Saradha group-owned Channel 10 news channel, of which he was the CEO.
"Why is the state (West Bengal government) in such a hurry to get me convicted when the CBI is probing the matter?" Ghosh, who had been arrested by Bidhannagar City Police in November, 2013 and was later handed over to CBI in July after it took over the investigation, said.
Ghosh, who fell out of favour with the TMC leadership after he made allegations against a section of it in connection with the multi-crore Saradha chitfund scam, has been making startling accusations against some party leaders during court hearings.
Ghosh was remanded to judicial custody by metropolitan magistrate Santanu Ganguly till December 12.
Ghosh made an alleged suicide bid by taking sleeping pills in the early hours of November 14, just three days after he threatened in open court to commit suicide if the CBI did not catch the real culprits in the case within 72 hours.
