: Worried about the life sentence imposed on him and also that he did not have a child, a prisoner out on parole allegedly committed suicide by consuming Poison at nearby Karisalkulam today.
Poice said Chinnathambi (65) had come out on parole to be with his family for Pongal. He was worried about the sentence slapped on him in 1993 and also because he did not have a child. He allegedly consumed poison when he was alone in the house, they said.
His neighbours saw him unconscious and rushed him to the hospital where he died without responding to treatment, they said.
