Additional sessions judge of Shujalpur sessions court, Rajiv Karmehe, passed the sentence on March 28.
According to the prosecution, on November 11, 2012, an altercation broke out when owners of adjacent land objected to erection of boundary poles on the land belonging to the family of Shareefan Bi.
She went home and returned with 38 others, family members and relatives, who brutally attacked the other party with 'lathis' and sharp-edged weapons, said Additional Public Prosecutor Kailash Yadav.
The court two days ago found 35 of the accused, including Shareefan Bi, guilty, and awarded them life sentence.
There were total of 38 accused. One of them was a minor and his case was transferred to the Juvenile Justice Court.
Another accused, Pappu alias Anwar, passed away during the trial, while Haseeb Khan alias Hakeem is absconding, Yadav said.
