Life sentence to 3 for murdering woman in Bihar

Three persons were given life imprisonment by a court here today for murdering a woman nearly 24 years ago.
Additional Sessions Judge Jyoti Swarup Srivastava also slapped a combined fine of Rs 40,000 on Kamleshwari Mahto, Doman Mahto and Rupam Mahto.
On June 24, 1992, Kamleshwari, Doman, Rupam Mahto and Parmeshwar Mahto shot Damodar Mahto and his wife Ojhli Devi at their house.
Ojhli died on the spot while Damodar was injured.
On the basis of the statement given by Damodar, police lodged an FIR against the four accused on June 24, 1992.
According to the FIR, the incident happened due to land dispute between the parties.

The fourth accused Parmeshwar had died during the trial.
