Life term for five in murder case

Five people were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a court here in a 2006 murder case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Bholanath Tiwari awarded life term to the five under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code for killing one Chaturbhuj Singh.
The convicts were Nageshwar Singh, Ramji Singh, Dinesh Singh, Ravikant Singh and Bindul Singh.
Police had initially lodged an FIR against 12 people in connection with the case.
As per the FIR lodged with Goraul police station of Vaishali district, the 12, including the five convicts, had attacked the father-son duo of Chaturbhuj Singh and Sanjay Singh due to an old enmity on November 14, 2006 in Vyashchak village in the district.
Chaturbhuj Singh succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.
After the completion of the investigation, police had filed a charge sheet against 10 people.
The court acquitted three persons for want of evidence and transferred the cases of two persons to a juvenile court.
