Life time achievers award, doctorates conferred

Manorama Bakshi, Chief Consultant for Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Government of India and Michael Arputharaj, Deputy chief engineer, Neyveli Lignite Corporation, were today conferred Honorary Doctorates for their contributions in their respective fields.
While Bakshi was awarded doctorate for her innovative contributions to the field of public health, Arputharaj was conferred the doctorate for his contributions in the field of mining industry by the city-based Indian Institute of Research and Management and University of Swahili, Kenya, at a function here.
Dr Jagadessh PIllai, Varanasi was given achievement award for excellence in service to society for the services rendered by him in saving the life of group of pilgrims.
While advocate J Jesudasan received the award for excellence in conducting more than 100 free legal awareness programs for the youth, Arulkumar of Sasurie Engineering Academy was given Best Event Manager award for 2014.
Other live time achievers are: Vaibhavaratna Vijayji Maharaj Saheb, a jain saint, for his contributions to spiritual literature, Arnav, a tele-cine artist for acting with a message to society in the serial 'Sakthi', K C Dinesh Kumar, Director Consulting Service, Hitachi Consulting GDC, Chennai, for his contributions to the field of IT and Aganit Danpitaksat, Police Lieutenant colonel, Thailand for his contributions in the field of Public Administration research.
The doctorates and achievement awards were announced twice in a year and nominations from public were received and carefully scrutinised and evaluated by a board of trustees and considered if deemed fit, Subramonian, Director of the Institute said.
Kerala Revenue Minister, Adoor Prakash gave away the awards.
