Light rainfall in parts of Raj, Churu hottest at 44.7 deg C

Parts of Rajasthan today received light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms, even as Churu was the hottest place in the state at 44.7 degrees Celsius.
Rashmisar in Chittorgarh district received 7 cm of rainfall, while Lunkaransar in Bikaner recorded 6 cm of rains, the MeT Department said here.
Tatgarh in Ajmer and Abu Road in Sirohi recorded 5 cm of rainfall each, whereas several other places received rainfall below 5 cm, it said.
The weather remained mainly dry in other parts of the state.
Day temperatures in Sriganganagar was recorded as 44 degrees Celsius, 43.1 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, 42 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer and 40.1 degree Celsius in Jaipur.
According to the weatherman, dust and thunder storms with squall are likely to occur at isolated places of the state in the next 24 hours.
