Barring Chelsea, Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie and Seobagh which received 19 mm, 11mm, 10.2 mm, 10 mm and 5 mm rains, the weather remained mainly dry inspite of overcast sky.
Keylong was coldest in the region with minimum temperature of 11.8 degrees while Kalpa andManali recorded a low of 12.8 degrees and 13.0 degrees followed by Dharamsala 16.4 degrees, Shimla 172 degrees, Bhuntar and Palampur 19.0 degrees, Solan 20.2 degrees, Nahan 21.1 degrees, Sundernagar 21.9 degrees, and Una 24.7 degrees C.
With monsoon remaining subdued, the rain deficit from June 1 to August 19 has increased to 18 per cent as the region received average rainfall of 501.8 mm against normal rain fall of 610.5 mm.
The monsoon deficit ranged between 24 per cent and 79 per cent in four districts of Sirmaur, Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti while Shimla, Solan and Kullu received 15 per cent, 9 per cent and 8 per cent excess rains.
