Light scattered rains in Delhi, Max temp 35.3 degrees Celsius

Light scattered rains were witnessed in several parts of the national capital which led to a fall in mercury even as humidity levels shot up and caused discomfort to residents.
The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 35.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average while the minimum temperature settled at 25 degrees, three notches below the normal, said a Met department official.
The humidity level oscillated between 98 and 61 per cent.
Safdarjung observatory, figure of which is considered the official figure for the city, recorded 13.4 mm rainfall while weather stations at Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Aayanagar recorded 9 mm, 10.8 mm, 1 mm and 39.6 mm rain respectively till 8.30 AM.
Between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM, the observatories at Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Palam and Ayanagar recorded 0.9 mm, 0.5 mm and 5.4 mm rainfall respectively. Traces of rainfall was recorded at Ridge weather station, said the weatherman.
The MeT office has forecast light rain and thundershowers for tomorrow.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain and thundershowers is likely to occur in some places.
"The maximum and minimum temperature are likely to settle around 36 and 26 degrees Celsius," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was pegged at 30 degrees Celsius.
