According to the MeT department, light to moderate rains occurred at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the state's east over the last 24 hours.
Central Water Commission sources said the Ganga continued to swell through its course from Fatehgarh to Chatnag (Allahabad), while Ramganga is flowing just under the red mark at Dabri (Shahjahanpur).
Sharda at Palia Kalan, Ghaghra at Elgin Bridge, Ayodhya and Turtipar and Burrhi Rapti at Kakrahi are still flowing above the danger mark, they said.
Major amount of rainfall recorded in cms are: Agra- 6, Moradabad, Khairagarh and Sambhal- 4 each, Aligarh, Orai and Iglas- 2 each.
The MeT department has forecast rain and thundershowers at a few places in the state in the next 24 hours.
