Light to moderate rain in UP

Light to moderate rain occurred at few places over Uttar Pradesh with heavy rain or thundershowers at isolated places in eastern parts of the state in the last 24 hours.
According to the MeT department chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms was Lakhimpur Kheri 9, Nighasan and Sidhauli 7 each; Pawayan, Kaiserganj, Tarabganj 5 each; Banda 4, Hamirpur 3, Baheri 2; Churk, Bahraich, Nawabganj, Pilibhit, Puranpur, Mankapur and Dudhi 1 each.
Day temperature fell largely in Gorakhpur division, markedly in Varanasi and Faizabad divisions; appreciably in Lucknow, Agra and Meerut divisions; fell in Allahabad division and change little in the remaining divisions of the state.

It was markedly below normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad and Meerut divisions; appreciably below normal in Faizabad and Lucknow divisions; below normal in Bareilly division; appreciably above normal in Agra division and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
Highest maximum temperature was 46 degrees Celsius at Etawah.
The MeT office today said that rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over east UP and isolated places in western parts of the state.
