Light to moderate rains in Rajasthan, Churu hottest

Light to moderate rainfall occurred in some regions of Rajasthan, while Churu was recorded as the hottest place with a maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall was recorded in Bharatpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer divisions, even as the weather remained dry in rest of the divisions across the state since yesterday.
Bonli recorded 5 cm rainfall, while Sawaimadhopur Tehsil, Swai Madhopur district, Piplu in Tonk district and Nainwa in Bundi district recorded 1 cm each, the weather department said.
Meanwhile, mercury made an upward swing at most places since yesterday.
Ganganagar recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9 degrees Celsius followed by Pilani and Bikaner (both 39.6), Jaisalmer (39), Jaipur (38.7), Barmer (38), Jodhpur (37.5) and Ajmer (36).
The MeT department has predicted rain or thunderstorm as likely to occur at isolated places in the state.
