Light to moderate rains in UP bring respite from heat

Light to moderate rains brought down temperatures at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, bringing some respite from the scorching heat.
Jhansi recorded the maximum temperature in the state at 41.2 degrees Celsius.
Light to moderate rains and thundershowers occurred at isolated areas. Heavy rains and thundershower also occurred at isolated places in western UP.
Akbarpur, Ambedkar nagar and Kanpur Dehat recorded 3 cm rainfall each, Unnao recorded 2 cm, Faizabad, Kanpur, Sultanpur and Kalpi recorded 1 cm rainfall each, it said.
The day temperature fell in Agra, Meerut, Bareilly, Moradabad, Jhansi and Gorakhpur division and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.

The temperatures were below normal in Varanasi, Faizabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad, Agra and Meerut divisions.
The MET department has forecast rains and thundershowers at isolated places.
