Lightning kills man, injures 2 in MP

A 30-year-old man died and two others sustained injuries when lightning struck them at a function in a village here, police said today.
One Ayodhaya Gond died and two others suffered injuries in the lightning at Jamanpani village here last evening, police inspector N K Pandey said.
Those who sustained injuries were undergoing treatment at the district hospital, he said, adding the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members today after postmortem.
Giving the details about the lightning mishaps, police
said in Kendrapara district, Bhaskar Sethy (55) and Malatilata Mallik (35) were killed at Keredagada village under Rajnagar police station area when they had taken shelter under a tree.

A 15-year-old boy Satyaban Rout was killed and twhen they were playing football in village playground, police said.

In another incident, a farmer Mathura Das (40) from Karanja village under Mahakalpada police station jurisdiction died when lightning struck him, police said.
Similarly, in Ganjam district, lightning claimed four lives in Sikharapur (2) and Bhabandha (2) under Hinjili block, police elaborated.
Three persons were killed when lightning struck at Panchagaon village on Sundarpada-Jatni road near Bhubaneswar. while two teen-aged tribal girls were killed due to lightning in Rasagovindpur area, police said.
In Bhadrak district, one person was killed due to lightning at Kandagaradi village while another died in Bisrampur village of Chandbali block, detailed police report said.
