Limited offtake weighs on sugar mill gate prices

Sugar mill gate prices were trading on a mixed note at the wholesale market in the national capital today with prices at select mills declining on ample supplies from mills amid limited offtake while a few mills prices rose on better offtake. Marketmen said constant supplies from mills along with reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers, led to fall in prices of select mills. Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 traded at Rs 3,480-3,660 and Rs 3,470-3,650 as compared with previous close of Rs 3,490-3,630 and Rs 3,480-3,620 per quintal. In the mill gate section, sugar Mawana, Asmoli and Simbholi dropped by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,540 and Rs 3,550 and Rs 3,550 perquintal each, while Khatuli, Dhampur and Dorala fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,580, Rs 3,480 and Rs 3,550 per quintal. On the other hand, sugar Kinnoni gained by Rs 30 to Rs 3,660 while Shamli advanced by Rs 25 to Rs 3,520 per quintal. Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal) Sugar retail markets - Rs 38.00-42.00 per kg. Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,750-3,900, S-30 Rs 3,740-3,890. Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,480-3,660, S-30 Rs 3,470-3,650.
