A liquor contractor was today shot dead in Nidana village in the district following a business dispute over opening of liquor shops in Pillukhera area.
The incident took place when the deceased contractor Jitendra was siting outside his liquor shop in the afternoon.
Sandeep, known to Jitendra, arrived at the spot with half-a-dozen men in two vehicles.
After playing a game of cards and consuming alcohol, Sandeep and his aides opened fire on Jitendra, leaving him with a bullet stuck in head.
Locals rushed him to a general hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.
Reportedly, Jitendra owned a number of liquor shops in Julana area and had also applied for new shops in Pillukhera area in the district. This became a bone of contention between him and Sandeep and his friends who already possessed liquor shops in Pillukhera.
On May 16, some imprisoned criminals had also demanded an extortion money of Rs 50 thousand from Jitendra after which the contractor had installed CCTV cameras outside his shop.
Today's shooting incident was captured in these cameras and police has started investigation in the case after taking the video footage in possession.
According to Julana police station incharge Balwan Singh, the name of Sandeep has surfaced as prime accused in the case.
