Liquor shops asked to down shutters on Mahaveer Jayanthi day

All toddy, arrack shops, bars and liquor sales outlets in Union Territory of Puducherry should remain closed on April 19 on account ofMahaveer Jayanthi, authorities today said.
Deputy Commissioner (Excise) S.Abel Rozario in a release said all bar attached restaurants should also be closed that day.
Those violating the directives would face strict action under the Excise Act, the release added.
