Actress Liza Minnelli says she can't wait to see Michelle Williams recreate her role of Sally Bowles in 'Cabaret' when she makes her Broadway debut in the musical next March.
The 67-year-old screen icon played the same part in the 1972 film version and she is waiting to see how the 32-year-old actress does in the role, reported E! online.
Williams and Alan Cumming will be taking on the iconic roles performed by Liza and Michael York in the movie adaptation of the long-running musical.
"Michelle is a wonderful actress and I love Alan Cumming. I'm excited to see what they will do with the show and am sure it will be great," Minnelli said.
Choreographer Rob Marshall, who is reprising his role behind the scenes after working on the 1993 revival of the show, thinks Williams will be astonishing.
"Michelle Williams is an actress of rare gifts and she will make an astonishing Sally Bowles," he said.
