Local BJP leader, two girls looted in Assam

Miscreants looted money from a local BJP Mahila Morcha leader in Kamrup (Rural) district while in another incident two girls travelling in a train were robbed of their suitcase and gold necklace in Morigaon district today, police said.
A group of armed unidentified persons, in army fatigues and faces covered, entered the house of the BJP Mahila Morcha President of Tulsibari unit Sipra Das at Rangia early this morning
They confined the leader along with her son and daughter at gunpoint and looted Rs forty thousand in cash along with gold and silver ornaments whose worth was yet to be ascertained.
In another incident, two girls from Arunachal Pradesh were looted by a group of miscreants travelling in the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Superfast Express near Ajori railway station of Morigaon district.
The miscreants looted the suitcase and a gold necklace from the girls who are students of Siliguri Institute of Technology and were on their way home for their summer vacation.
The police arrested one person while the others managed to escape and a massive hunt has been launched to nab them.
