The training was held at the Centre of Excellence for fruits, set up under an agreement between India and Israel, in Sirsa, Haryana.
A visiting farm expert from Israeli government Itzhak Kosto shared how high quality pomegranates can be produced with use of Israeli technologies, an official statement said.
"We're here to train the trainers...We're trying to adapt Israeli tech to the Indian conditions and we are sure that we will get good results," he said.
Israel, though a small producer of pomegranates, grows high quality fruit for export. India too can produce quality pomegranantes by adapting Israeli technologies, Kosto said.
Currently, eight Centre of Excellences are operational in different states, where Israeli experts are training local scientists as well as farmers use of Israeli technology to improve production of fruits and vegetables.
A total of 29 such centres are to be set up by March 25 under the mutual cooperation agreement signed between the two countries.
