The 25-year-old was rushed to the hospital for minor injuries after her Porsche smashed into the trailer truck on the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles, reported Aceshowbiz.
The actress said she was informed that the brakes were replaced two days before the accident. She is also sticking to her earlier story that a truck cut her, although the truck's driver has strongly denied it.
"She did apply the brakes but the Porsche failed to slow down and she could not prevent the accident," a source said.
"The accident happened after Lohan swerved into the lane I was occupying and crashed into my vehicle from behind," said the truck driver, James.
He also accused Lohan of trying to bribe him, which she denied as well.
"Him and the guy took me across the street and told me this was some kind of famous person and they didn't want to be in the media," James said.
Lohan's spokesman said that Lohan was completely co-operating with the police.
"She has answered all their questions and provided them with everything they have asked for," he had said.
