Lok Adalat dispose of over 4,000 cases, awards Rs 1.04 crore

In the Lok Adalat, organised here in all six district court complexes of Patiala House, Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Saket, Dwarka and Rohini, 47 benches were constituted which disposed of 3,843 pending cases relating to cheque bounce, electricity bill, traffic challan, various compoundable criminal offences, matrimonial cases and others.

Besides these, 46 cases pertaining to motor accident claims were also disposed in the Lok Adalat and a compensation amount of Rs 1,04,51,000 was awarded.

Additionally, 194 criminal cases were disposed of by way of plea bargaining.

A total of 4,091 cases have been settled finally and there would be no further appeals in the cases disposed of today, a release issued by the DLSA said.
