The UP Lokayukta and Deputy Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, which proposed extending the tenure of Lokayukta and its deputy to eight years instead of existing six years, had been passed by the Assembly on Monday.
The Council had on Wednesday sent back the bill to Vidhan Sabha with recommendation of five year tenure.
Tabling the bill in the Upper House, Revenue Minister Ambika Chaudhary had said the Vidhan Sabha speaker has certified that it was a money bill therefore no amendment could be done, though suggestion can be made.
