The lecturer, Ramdayal Joshi, was allegedly involved, along with other officials including the then Mandsaur Collector, then CEO and few others, in selling of two truckloads of textbooks meant for free distribution as scrap in 2008-09, following which a case was registered against them by the Lokayukta Police, the agency sources said.
At that time Joshi was posted as Assistant Project Officer on deputation.
During probe police came to know about disproportionate assets of Joshi following which it conducted a raid against him, they said.
At present Joshi is posted as a lecturer in Mandsaur.
Police raided Joshi's residences situated at Amlawad and Mandsaur and found that he owns properties including a house, two plots, nearly 35-acre of agriculture land, a car and two motorcycles.
The agency also found that he has Rs 9 lakh in bank, shares and insurance worth Rs 2 crore, that are disproportionate to his known sources of income, sources added.
