Taking conginsance of the complaint filed by journalist Nagalalshmi Bai, Judge N K Sudhindra Rao today adjourned the case to September 22 for recording of the sworn statement of the complainant.

In her complaint filed last week Nagalakshmi had alleged that in 2008, Gowday's wife Datty purchased 7.5 guntas (one gunta is about 1,086 square feet) of "gomala" (place set apart for grazing purpose) land in Bangalore North, Jala Hobli, Bagalur village "without proper documents and also subsequently constructed a two-floor building spread over 8,700 sqft without licence or even getting the land converted".

And while declaring his assets and liabilities, Sadananda Gowda who was then an MP, "showed the purchase of land but not the illegal building constructed on it".

Later when he became the Chief Minister also, Nagalakshmi alleged that Gowda did not show the building that was constructed on the said land.

She further pointed out that in 1998 when Gowda was an MLA from Puttur, he was given 10 cents of grant-in-aid land by then Deputy Commissioner, on which he had allegedly illegally constructed another building.

On Feb 2, 2007, Nagalakshmi alleged as an MP, Gowda "got a site allotted in his name by the Bangalore Development Authority under "G" category by giving a false affidavit to the BDA saying, he did not possess any site or land in the state".

She prayed for a probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the IPC.
