The circular, which said nurses of foreign nationalities cannot practice in India, has created lot of apprehension among Tibetans studying nursing and midwifery here, Lobsang Sangay, Prime Minister of the exiled Tibetan government in India said.
"The original circular from INC says foreign nationals having valid certificate of registered nurse and registered midwife in their own country as on the date of admission, can be admitted for higher nursing education in India.
But, Tibetans having studied and earned certificates from Indian institutions, are not barred from practicing in India, Sangay said adding, "the bureau office in New Delhi has approached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the matter.
