Lord Venkateswara shrine staff suspended for swindling money
Press Trust of India Tirupati Five employees of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which manages the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara here, were suspended today for alleged misappropriation of money to the tune of Rs Eight lakh in the sale of calendars in 2011 and 2012.
TTD sources said the employees attached to the sales wing have cheated the temple by swindling about Rs 8 lakh in the sale of calendars during the two years.
The audit department detected the fraud and brought it to the notice of TTD management, which immediately suspended the staff involved in the scam, the sources said.
