Lorry driver releived of Rs 4 lakh in cash

: A lorry driver was relieved of Rs four lakh in cash by a four member gang, who beat him up before fleeing with the cash near Attur, about 55 km from here early this morning.
Police said the lorry driver had collected the cash after sale of sweets in various areas. While he was on his way to bangalore on the National Highway via this town, he was lured into the forests near Attur by a woman, where the waiting gang members thrashed him and decamped with the money.
The lorry driver later reported the robbery to police.
