Gita Saini (16) and Sonu Barhet, residents of ward number 12 in Khanpole area, hanged themselves from a ceiling fan in the former's house, Station House Officer (SHO) of Nainwa police station Subhash Punia said.
Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and the bodies were brought down and rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) where doctors declared them brought dead.
"A love letter was recovered from the boy's pocket in which he professed his love for the girl but made no hint of suicide," the SHO said.
Friends of the deceased boy have alleged the incident to be a case of honour killing.
However, police have ruled out possibilities of honour killing saying that the room, in which the bodies were found hanging, was locked from inside and police had to break the window to enter the room, the SHO said.
The bodies were handed over to the family members after post mortem, he added.
