Turmeric drifted 1.56 per cent to Rs 9,186 per quintal in futures market today today as participants cut down their bets on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in far-month May moved down by Rs 146, or 1.56 per cent to Rs 9,186 per quintal with an open interest of 14,695 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April contracts traded lower by Rs 144, or 1.55 per cent to Rs 9,126 per quintal in 32,045 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders amid weak demand in the spot market against adequate stocks positions dragged down turmeric prices at futures trade.
