Speaking at a function yesterday, Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan had said that all the LPG bottling plants established in Uttar Pradesh (25 at present, 4-5 being installed) would be linked to this pipeline.
"LPG has proved to be not only a fuel, but a medium of social change. The decision of laying an LPG pipeline from Kandla (in Gujarat) to Gorakhpur is truly revolutionary," said UP BJP spokesperson Manish Shukla, here today.
Shukla said the Ujjwala Yojana - which was launched on May 1, 2016, from Ballia, had helped women of poor families the most.
According to the Centre, the number of LPG connections in UP has gone up from 1.14 crore to 2.88 crore after the launch of the PM Ujjwala Yojana.
Shukla exuded confidence that the numbers will increase in the coming days as the state government pushes further to provide clean fuel to each and every household in the state.
