LPG Plant for storage to be commissioned soon in Valley

"The second Phase of LPG Augmentation Storage Capacity Plant at Pampore coming up of at cost of Rs 26 crore is in testing stage and will be commissioned soon," Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon said after visiting the storage facility at Pampore yesterday.

Akhoon also inspected godowns of Food Corporation of India (FCI) and CAPD department at Lethpora and Mir Bazar, Qazigund and Atta mills at Lethpora and Athwajan, an official spokesman said.

During the visit, the Minister was apprised that after completion of 2120 Metric tonnes (MT) additional storage capacity gas plant, the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPC) will be in position to store 3320 MTs of gas against the present storage capacity of 1400 MT.

Over 12,000 gas cylinders are being refilled daily at Pampore and supplied to the dealers for onward distribution to the consumers, the spokesman said.
