LS polls is first step for change: Madni
Press Trust of India Jammu Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) today termed the Omar Abdullah dispensation as "ineffective" and asked people to vote for the party in the Lok Sabha polls which it said was the first step towards movement for change in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Attaining power is not the only aim of PDP. We, with the support of the people, want to change the present ineffective system. On going Lok Sabha elections is first step towards movement for change in the state," said Sartaj Madni, Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly and senior PDP leader.
He said voting in favour of PDP would intensify the campaign for change in the state.
"PDP under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti has already launched a campaign to throw out the present corrupt dispensation," he said while addressing a series of public rallies in Arnas area in support of party candidate for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat Arshad Malik.
He expressed confidence that people would vote in favour of PDP to change their destiny and claimed that his party has emerged as strong and credible voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
