Sabha in which the newly-elected Narendra Modi government presented its roadmap for five years, has been prorogued.
The session was prorogued by President Pranab Mukherjee yesterday, a statement from the Lok Sabha secretariat said today.
The session was adjourned sine die on June 11 after the adoption of the motion of thanks to the President's address to the joint sitting of the two Houses.
The business in the session, which commenced on June 4, included the swearing-in of the newly-elected members, the unanimous election of Sumitra Mahajan as Speaker and adoption of the motion of thanks.
Outlining its agenda for five years, the government had announced a slew of measures to push growth and create jobs, which will include encouraging investment and creating a predictable, transparent and fair environment.
Addressing the first joint sitting of Parliament after the recent Lok Sabha elections, President Mukherjee said the Narendra Modi government will initiate a series of social, healthcare and infrastructure programmes while asserting that there will be 'zero tolerance' towards terrorism and extremism, besides violence against women.
