Ludhiana will soon get a new FM Radio station, Information and Broadcasting minister Manish Tewari said here today.
The opening of the FM Radio Station would not only provide information and entertainment but also create employment opportunities for locals, he told reporters here.
Tewari said two acre land is needed for the purpose and appealed to local MLAs and industrialists to arrange for the plot so that the proposal may be processed further.
He also said the auction of 839 FM Radio Stations in 294 cities will be completed within the next six months.
Earlier, a delegation of Hosiery Industries and Knitwear Club of Ludhiana honoured Tewari for having facilitated abolition of excise duty on certain items of hosiery.
They said it would not only benefit Ludhiana-based hosiery units but all similar units across the country.
