He said the data related to rural and urban areas in these metropolitan cities. In Chennai cancer of the lungs accounts for the second most common form of malignancy while in Bangalore it is at the third rank.
JIPMER will hold a one-day Continuing Medical Education programme on different aspects of cancer at RCC on April 27.
Reddy said delegates from different institutions would hold deliberations highlighting challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancers. Doctors from various medical colleges and JIPMER would present papers, he said.
