Sri Lanka topped Group A beating Macau and drawing against Sao Tome e Principe to reach the semi-finals, while Mozambique lost one match before winning against India to finish second.
Mozambique, who are a much higher ranked team, played organised games in both the matches. Their midfield coordinated well. The defence also gave good account of themselves with keeper Cesar Machava putting up a fine show under the bar, making a couple of good saves against India.
Mozambique coach Augusto Matine said he was happy with the way his team has played against India in the second match, which they won.
"All we need now is to remain focused and not let complacency creep in against the Lankans, whose confidence is high as they have not lost a match in the group stage," Matine said.
