Built at a cost of Rs 2 crore, the tourist hubs would have amenities for visitors to world's wettest place known as Sohra (Cherrapunjee).
The Dympep tourist hub will help the tourists for short time relaxation during their journey. The Arwah Lumshynna tourist hub will enable the tourists to have a glimpse of the scenic beauty, cascading water falls, ancient rocks similar to the grand Canyons, precipices, caves and recreation parks for Children.
The hubs have been created as part of the Cherrapunjee Ecological Project Restoration of Degradation Lands under Sohra (Cherrapunjee) Plateau to generate economic activities for the local populace.
He suggested that Meghalaya could be a big tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists by promoting Sohra brand (Cherrapunjee) as the world's wettest place.
