Congress party chief whip in Meghalaya Assembly R V Lyngdoh today sought action against former chief minister and senior leader S C Marak for questioning the sincerity of AICC in-charge of Meghalaya.
"People with vested interest in the past decades have been responsible for instability thus causing immense injury to the people and the state by derailing pace of growth and development," party chief whip R V Lyngdoh said in a statement to the media here.
The statement came in the wake of S C Marak openly criticising AICC secretary in charge of the state Luizinho Faleiro.
Lyngdoh said the statement of a senior MLA and former Chief Minister S C Marak is 'against the practice and convention' of the Congress party and it is unbecoming of a Congressman to question the impartiality of a General Secretary AICC in-charge of a state.
Seeking disciplinary actions against Marak, Lyngdoh said, "We will urge the party high command to discipline such leaders in the interest of the state and people. We are to focus on the responsibility vested on Congress party in fulfilling our promises to the people.
