Based of specific information, the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Police recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in general area Shergari Forest in Chasana Tehsil of Reasi District, Defence Spokesman said.
The joint operation team marched in rugged terrain and seized a cache of arms and ammunition from a natural hideout, he said.
The cache includes one M-16 Rifle, one AK-47 Rifle, one AK -56 Rifle, five magazines AK 47, one magazine M-16, two Chinese grenade, five UBGL grenade, thirty pistol round, two hundred four AK-47 rounds and seventy five Pika rounds, he said.
Rasthriya Rifles under aegis of Uniform Force has been ensuring that the peace and tranquility in the area prevails unattended so that the terrorists are not successful in their nefarious ambitions, he said adding that the latest recovery is yet another set back to the militant design of operation.
