Patel, who had eclipsed many existing records in the ongoing championship, clocked 00:31:15s in the 50m backstroke (women), breaking the 2008 record set by Fariha Zaman, while Aaron clinched a gold in 200m butterfly (men) with the record time of 02:00:90s at the B R Ambedkar International Complex.
Another national record was made when the women's team of Maharashtra clocked 04:06:18s in the 4X100m freestyle relay, beating Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
The day also witnessed the strong comeback of Maharashtra in the point chart.
Beating last year's champions Karnataka, Maharashtra topped the list with 186 points today. Karnataka and Railway teams were second and third with 176 and 161 points respectively.
