"Mr Mitra will undergo a regular medical check-up today. There is nothing serious," hospital sources told PTI today.
It was learnt that doctors of the seven-member medical board, earlier set up to monitor the minister's health conditions, would also be present during the check-up at SSKM hosiptal.
A city court yesterday rejected Mitra's bail plea and remanded him in judicial custody till January 16. The Minister claimed innocence saying he was ready to be hanged if found guilty in the chit fund scam.
Mitra, who is Transport and Sports minister, was arrested on December 12 and following two spells in CBI custody, he was sent to judicial remand on December 19.
He was, however, admitted to state-run SSKM Hospital on the same evening following complaints of chest pain and uneasiness and was there for most part of his judicial remand before he was shifted back to Alipore Central Jail on December 28 after the doctors gave the go-ahead for his release from hospital.
