'Made in Pakistan' show opens in Chandigarh

The sixth edition of five-day 'Made in Pakistan' show, organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), showcasing apparels among other materials opened in the city today.
The CII is organising the show with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce.
Main attractions at the fair included exclusively designed evening gowns especially for party and bridal wear, chiffon and cotton suits and dress material, Jaamavar work suits, Multani handwork dress material, Irani Rosewater, Brass door bells, Afghani and Dubai Ittar.
Other things attracting people included Pakistani Sunflower seeds for diabetes control, Irani plum (energy boosters), Afghani heeng, Ceramic cabinets, Kuch Kundal work anarkali suits, Hakik-Feroza stone jewelry, Coral feather blankets, sequin hand bags and clutches and Swaroski stone footwear.

Nearly 75 exhibitors from Pakistan are showcasing their best here, a CII spokesman said.
Mohan Chauhan, Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and Director - Tourism, Government of Himachal Pardesh said that this show is a platform for promotion of regional peace, trade and exchange of thoughts between the two countries.

The show, a CII initiative, is a step towards bringing the two countries closer as the CII believes that people-to- people connect is the best way to promote cultural and trade ties and strengthen relations, Pikender Pal Singh, Regional Director, CII Northern Region said on the occasion.
Khurshid Barlas, Executive Member, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Chief Executive and Chief Executive Pak World Trade and Expo Centre said: "It is through these exchanges that we can sow the seeds of a peaceful future and see that the new generations do not share the lack of love and trust some of us grew upon."

Furqaan Afzal, one of the designers of the exhibition from Pakistan, said his collection comprises Jaamavar velvet suits and evening gowns ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 22,000.
Kausar Sheikh, Chairperson, Multan Chamber of Commerce, and owner Attrie Collection, Pakistan, said an exclusive range of suits designed by renowned Pakistani designers like Ittehad, Chiyanere, Barize, Nishaat, Sanaa Safinaz are being showcased in the show.
