Mumtaz Sorcar, daughter of magician P C Sorcar-junior, who was last seen in sports drama "Saala Khadoos", says actor R Madhavan is like a father to her.
Describing Madhavan as a wonderful human being, the young actress said the "3 Idiots" star was "almost like a teacher on the sets of "Saala Khadoos".
"I adored him since the days of 'RHTDM' when I was a kid. I was in class x when 3 Idiots happened, And now he now becomes a father figure to me after 'Saala Khadoos'" Mumtaz told PTI.
The actress recalled how she showed a few magic tricks to her much-senior co-star in between shoots.
"We had a ball during shoots. I recall Madhavan had requested me to show one or two magic tricks since I hail from the P C Sorcar family. Many a time he came to the set and I was around, he would say 'Can you show some magic?' and I obliged. He would then declare, 'But I also know magic trick' and we had a hearty laugh."
"You know even Rajkumar Hirani had asked me to show magic at the first meeting," one of the three daughters of magician P C Sorcar-junior said.

Mumtaz essayed the role of sister of fisher woman-boxer (Ritika Singh) in the film and she said the two bonded well on the sets.
"We the two young girls in the film bonded well on the sets. And no, there was no cat fight or rivalry behind the camera as you are hinting at."
Talking about senior actors Zakir Hussain and Nassar, who were in the cast as character actors, Mumtaz said, "Both Nasser Sir and Zakir Sir had been in industry for long. And while one was very energetic staying back and taking interest in every minutest detail on set (Nasser), Zakir sir was more withdrawn and chilled out."
She was speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming Bengali film "Conditions Apply" on a transgender actor, who despite being accepted as a heroine was now facing identity crisis after her sexual orientation becoming known.
About being part of Hirani's production, Mumtaz remembered how fortunate she was to be guided by both Hirani and Sudha.
"Since 'Saala Khadoos' I have received four offers from Bollywood and Southern film industry in total. Be it Kolkata, Chennai or Mumbai it doesn't matter to me so long the script is meaningful," she said.
In an extension to her magician's role, Mumtaz also plans to be part of a feature film on magic merging her reel and real life in future.
"Let's see if that happens one day. In Bengali, of course," she signed off.
