District Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said prohibitory orders under section 144 Cr PC clamped on Madhubani town and adjoining Jainagar would, however, remain in place as a precautionary measure.
The policemen are carrying out intensified patrolling to keep vigil on the law and order situation, he said.
Madhubani witnessed violence for two consecutive days till yesterday as agitators pelted stones and set on fire Basopatti, Khajauli, Kaluwahi, Jainagar and Rajnagar police stations in the district to protest the murder of a school boy last month.
Mishra said he along with District Magistrate Lokesh Kumar Singh was touring various parts of the district to monitor the law and order situation on the spot.
There was tension in Jainagar area as local people blocked the road to protest the death of a person injured in police firing yesterday.
The man had been rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital where he died, deputy superintendent of police Sudhir Kumar said, adding efforts are on to persuade the protesters to remove blockade.
A peace march was taken out at Jainagar after a meeting of the local peace committee at Jaingar police station which was attended by representatives of students, police parties and the intelligentsia.
