This bonus is over and above the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 1,250 per quintal for common variety and Rs 1,280 per quintal for Grade A variety announced by the Centre for paddy.
"Madhya Pradesh will provide Rs 100 per quintal on procurement of paddy. It already offers Rs 100 per quintal on procurement of wheat," a statement said.
Chouhan also announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to families of farmers in case of their death while doing farming activities and that the state government will bear the expenses of treatment of farmers in case of serious illness, it added.
The chief minister also said that the grant for constructing tube well will be raised from Rs 24,000 to Rs 40,000 and from next year, rural areas will have 24 hour uninterrupted power supply, it said.
Chouhan said that the government will open a vocational university next year so that farmers get a chance to learn trades and start their own business.
Chouhan also urged the Union government to take steps to bring down the fertiliser prices, which are hurting the interests of the farmers.
